Our Mission
Every year Hillsboro Fire & Rescue responds to thousands of 911 calls. Many of these calls involve significant tragedy. Over the years we have found ourselves subjected to some physical and emotional distress in the course of our service. Regardless of this distress, we continue to respond in a professional way to support our community. We have discovered that one of the greatest ways to combat these stresses is to go beyond the call of duty and give something extra back to the communities we serve via random acts of kindness.
Many times after the emergency is over, we must leave impacted community members to pick up the pieces and begin the recovery process on their own. Hillsboro Firefighters Random Acts was organized as a means for the firefighters to aid in the process of rebuilding and pursue other charitable acts such as providing temporary housing, donating wheel chairs, assisting in pet medical bills, building wheel chair ramps, providing toys and meals to those most vulnerable, and much more.
Our diverse board is comprised of individuals within the Fire & Rescue Department and the City of Hillsboro. We serve on a purely voluntary basis to fulfill our mission statement: “Creating a positive difference in the lives of Individuals through Random Acts of Kindness.”
Our random acts of kindness are made possible by generous individuals and companies that see the amazing potential of empowering firefighters to reach out into society and lift people up. Together we can create seeds of change in peoples lives and bring smiles to children’s faces. With your support our organization can continue this mission that is strengthens our community one act at a time..
Hillsboro Firefighters Random Acts is a 501(C)3 charitable organization.
